Cookie Dough
Sand
Coloring in a coloring book
Other Literacy ideas Play Rhyming games or words that start with a specific letter in the car
Comprehension Skills: After reading a story ask your child some of the following questions:
Who were the characters?
Where did the story take place?
What was the problem?
How did they solve the problem?
What was your favorite part?
Have them come up with an alternative ending.
Math Skills: Practice oral counting together! Practice one-to-one correspondence by counting objects in the house Practice simple addition and subtraction stories by telling number stories (i.e., 3 birds were sitting on a tree and 1 flew away. How many were left?)
